Happy Hanukkah!
Dec. 21st, 2011 07:05 pmI know that it started last night, but, well, better late than never!
I couldn't find my menorah last night no matter how hard I searched, so I bought a cheap one at Target. It doesn't look bad though, especially with the lights dimmed and the candles flickering. I'm probably the only one in this subdivision with a menorah in the window and no Christmas tree. It feels so weird. It's not like there were a lot of Jewish people where I came from, but there are practically NONE here. I'm used to having a rabbi-led temple in my town. Here, if I want to go to Temple, it's over an hour drive one way and it's lay-led. Not that there's anything particularly wrong with lay-led, especially since I'm not the most observant Jew in the world, but...I don't know. I just feel rather isolated.

My cheap menorah that I rather like :)
